Wind in Kansas

Kansas is a national and world leader in wind power generation. Since 2019, wind energy has been the largest source of electricity generation in the state, accounting for 46% of its total net generation. Kansas also ranks 5th in the nation for total installed wind generation capacity. Kansans' electricity bills have remained well below the national average due to this abundance of wind energy.
